HOW OFTEN WILL AN INSPECTION BE PERFORMED ?
Once every year : Hazardous, Institutional, Residential, Assembly Occupancies
Once every 2 years : Industrial and Educational Occupancies
Once every 3 years : Business, Storage, Mercantile Occupancies, and Churches.
The fire inspectors will also assist building inspectors on new construction projects.
WHO WILL PERFORM THE FIRE SAFETY INSPECTIONS ?
Not only are our inspectors certified to perform fire inspections, each is certified as a North Carolina firefighter. This enables us to bring you a clear understanding of fire behavior.
HOW WILL THE FIRE INSPECTION PROGRAM WORK ?
The owner/operator will sign an inspection form and a copy will be left as a record of the inspection. When the inspector returns for the reinspection date all violations must be corrected. If corrections have not been properly abated there will be a fine per violation and a hourly rate will also be charged for the reinspection.
ARE THERE ANY CHARGES FOR THE SERVICES ?
The current fee schedule as adopted by the Town of Zebulon Board of Commissioners is listed below:
PERMIT FEES
A.. Specialized Permits $ 100.00
-underground tank removal (per tank)
-hazardous chemical permit
B. All other permits required by the N.C. $ 50.00 (each)
State Fire Prevention Code
Permits for the following will be issued when they meet the technical code standard. They will be valid until such a time when a reinspection is due according to the state inspection schedule, or whenever the inspector determines that the business is no longer in compliance with the minimum code. The fire code currently requires that a permit be issued for the following operations:
